Pray

I hope all of you have had a great week. I was not able to post a blog yesterday because all of the power was out in Starkville due to the terrible weather that came through. I wanted to dedicate this blog to all of the people that have been affected by the tornadoes that came through Mississippi and Alabama Wednesday. I have seen videos and photos that are heart breaking and mind blowing. My heart goes out to all of the people that were directly and indirectly affected by the storm, and I hope that you will join in with me as we pray for them and give them our time other resources as well. Make strangers your family by giving them things that they need in times like these. I pray that lives and families will be restored and God will give peace to so many that need it. Have a great weekend!

Take the Time, Tuesday

It is exam week in Starkville, so things are very busy! Nothing like finishing a day with no brain cells left and having to prepare for another exam the next day. I want you to take the time today to pray for the teachers in America. Teachers have such an important job and they are often overlooked as an important profession. Without teachers, we would not be able to do anything. Pray that more teachers will see their role as an opportunity to really invest in lives and help build futures for the kids in the world today. I am so thankful for all of my teachers, and I appreciate all they did for me. Have a terrific Tuesday!

He Has Risen

I hope all of you had a great weekend! I had an awesome weekend with friends and family as we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I was able to spend time with some of my closest friends this weekend, and it was great because we do not get to do that very often. I hope all of you reflected on the cross and the crucifixion this weekend because as Christians, it is the most important event in history. Christmas is always a great time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ but without his death, burial, and resurrection, everything is meaningless. We serve a God that was buried but the grave couldn't hold Him and now He is seated at the right hand of the Father. I watched an Easter presentation this weekend and there were two little boys that sat in front of me. I watched them throughout the play and their eyes were so fixed on everything that was going on, and I found myself praying for them. Praying that they would come to know Christ and seek Him with their whole heart. I pray that you will be encouraged today and no matter where you were or where you are right now, God loves you and He wants for you to come back to Him. I hope you have a magnificent Monday!

Grow

Last night at FCA, we had a guest speaker and he was very challenging. His love for the Lord and his knowledge of the Word was great and it challenged me. As Christians, the only way for us to fight the fight everyday is to have the Word within us. I wanted to list a few ways we can grow in the Word together as we live life.

1. Hear - Romans 10:17
2. Read - Deuteronomy 17:19
3. Meditate - Joshua 1:8
4. Memorize - Psalm 119:11
5. Study - Proverbs 2:1-5

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Take the Time, Tuesday

I want you to take the time to send someone a message or let them know you are praying for them today. Maybe as you read this, there is someone that comes to your mind or is laid on your heart. If so, email them, text them, or call them and let them know that you were thinking about them today so you wanted to let them know that. You never know what type of encouragement that could provide for someone. We all need encouragement in our lives, and I want us to let people know we care about them more often. Take the time to do this today because you never know what this could do for someone! Have a terrific Tuesday!

Hurt People, Hurt People

I hope all of you had a great weekend. I was able to see our tennis team beat Ole Miss and our track team did extremely well also. Today's blog deals with something we talked about last night in our FCA bible study. I have seen more and more that people are hurting. Each and every person has a struggle or a problem that they are dealing with and most of the time we don't know it. Some of the people that are hurt tend to try and hurt other people because of the way they feel. What if the hurt people tried to be healed and in the process tried to help heal others as well. Things would be a lot different. I don't know what your struggle is today or what your problem is in your life, but give it to the Lord. Don't allow it to be with you anymore. Have some of your friends help you with it and lay it at the cross for Christ to carry for you. I hope you have a magnificent Monday!

Family and Friend Fellowship, Friday

I hope all of you had a great week!  Mine has been great, and I was able to go see the Zac Brown Band in concert last night. They played here in Starkville at the amphitheater, and I loved hearing them. It is hard to believe that the semester is coming to an end. I want you to pray for the soldiers over seas and the ones that are serving our country that are not over seas. Spend time with your family and friends today and pray for them as well as their families. It is so easy for us to get caught up in our everyday lives and forget about those that serve our country everyday and fight for our freedom. Have a great weekend!

Success

Success is sweet, the sweeter if long delayed and attained through struggles and defeats.
- A. Bronson Alcott

I love this quote because many times in life it takes struggles and defeats before you get to where you want to go! If success was attained easily and did not require hard work, defeats, or struggles, I believe it would not be appreciated near as much. In sports, work, or life, we all will face struggles that can get us down for a short time. If we will look at these things in our lives as a part of the path, we can get over them a lot easier.  Maybe you have been working hard for a long time and you want to see the success... keep pushing and it will be even sweeter after you get through it all! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Take the Time, Tuesday

Today is the wonderful take the time Tuesday, and I wanted to make it fun today for everyone! I want you to take the time today to pray for the families of America and the relationships in America. I feel like so many people take marriage too lightly. It is starting to really bother me. I want the family to unite and begin to make differences in the world. I think one of the main reasons our world is in the shape it is in right now is because fathers have left the picture. We have kids raising kids. We do not have two parents in the home that are directing children in the way in which they should go. Take the time today to pray that people would begin to understand why marriage was instituted and that people would begin to take relationships more serious!

Choices

I hope all of you had a great weekend! I was able to enjoy Super Bulldog Weekend in Starkville and spend time with friends. After watching the spring football game, I can't wait until football season gets here in the fall.  Today's blog talks about choices. Everyday you wake up, you have choices to make. The choices include what you will wear, what you will eat, what you will do, what you will not do, and the list goes on and on.  Although most of the choices that are made may not have long term effects, some of them do. Each choice that is made has a consequence that comes with it. Sometimes those consequences are good and sometimes they are bad. I want you to start thinking about your choices more seriously. Understand that every one of your choices could have a lasting impact on your life, as well as those around you. Make good choices. Make smart choices. The choices you make today could change your life forever! Have a marvelous Monday!

Family and Friend Fellowship, Friday

I hope all of you have had a great week! It is finally the weekend, and I have been so ready for it to get here. It is super bulldog weekend in Starkville this weekend, so I am excited about everything that will be going on! If you are able, bring your family and friends to the spring game and to the other festivities that are going on. If you can't make it here, watch the spring game on CSS. I hope all of you have a great weekend!

Mr. Mike Bogue

My blog from January 20th talked about the 10 people that have been most influential in my life, and today I wanted to talk about one of them.  I will eventually talk about each one and why they have impacted my life, and I will start with Mr. Mike Bogue.  Growing up and being best friends with his son, I was able to observe Mr. Mike a lot. I watched everything he did. I watched the way he treated his wife. I watched the way he treated his children. I watched the way he treated others. I watched the way he treated his parents. I watched the way he handled situations. I watched the way he lived his life. I watched everything because I wanted to be like him. He is a man that loves God, loves his family and loves people. He is a provider, a protector, a leader, and a man of God that I truly respect. Mr. Mike loves his wife the way Christ calls men to do so. Ephesians 5 talks about a husband loving his wife as Christ loves the church. I can honestly say Mr. Mike does that, and I am grateful for him in my life! I pray that I can be a Godly father, husband, and worker when I get older! Thank you Mr. Mike!

Who has influenced you?

Revival Message

Last night I was able to speak at a church in Tupelo, and I had a great time. I loved the pastor as well as the members in the church. When I got there, one of the couples from the church had us over and fed us a delicious meal. I wanted to include a quote from the pastor that was preaching the revival service last night and let you ponder on it. I gave my testimony to the church, and the pastor gave the message.

Don't be ashamed of your past.
Don't be attached to the present.
Don't be afraid of the future.

I hope this has a great impact on you like it did me. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Take the Time, Tuesday

I want you to take the time today to pray for Nick Bell and his family. We had relay for life here on campus last Friday and raised a lot of money. Often times we easily forget things that happen to those that are close to us, and I want you to be praying for Nick's family today. Nick was a fellow teammate of mine that lost the battle to cancer last year in a short period of time. Although he experienced a lot of pain, he never let that be evident in the way he lived his life the last couple of months. He still smiled and he still made others feel good. I want you to take the time today to pray for his family. Pray that they will continue to be strengthened and healed as the days go by. Have a terrific Tuesday!

4 Questions to Ask Yourself

I hope all of you had a great weekend! Yesterday, Dr. Voddie Bauchum spoke at my home church, so I was able to go and here him speak. I was not only impressed by his message and ability to relay the information, but challenged by what he said. Before you answer the questions below, read 1 John 5!  I wanted to list the 4 questions that Dr. Bauchum asked, and I want you to ask yourself these questions to see where you stand with the Lord. Here are the questions below:

1. Do you believe the gospel as it is presented in the Bible?
2. Do you love your brothers and sisters? The church?
3. Do you do what God commands?
4. Do you persevere?

I encourage you to answer these questions and be honest with yourself! Have a magnificent Monday!

Family and Friend Fellowship, Friday

I hope all of you have had a great week! It is hard to believe March is over and April is here. Don't forget today is April fools day so play a trick on someone... A clean one of course! I would love for you to email me a good idea for an April fools joke or something that has happened to you. I talked about one of my best friends yesterday because his baby boy was born. He gets to take him home today, so they will spend their first night at home as a family together! I am so excited for him. I want you to tell your family how much you appreciate all they do for you today. Or, tell your friends how much you appreciate them in your life. Without those people, where would you be? Have a great weekend!
