Don't be a Leader; be a Great Leader

"A leader takes people where they want to go. A great leader takes people where they ought to be."
-Abraham Lincoln

I enjoy getting quotes from Honest Abe himself. His quotes are so true and so challenging! Being a leader is not always an easy task, but someone has to do it. Leaders are not always seen as individuals that are people pleasers but they often lead in a way that will eventually please the people. When I think of a leader, I think of someone that can lead other people to a place or position. Although this may be true, many times the leaders are leading the people to a place they already want to be. But what about a great leader? A person that leads people not where they want to be but where they ought to be. Now this type of leader is a little different in my opinion. This type of leader, a great leader, must still lead in a way that allows others to follow that lead and in the journey, they end up at a place they never thought they would be. Why? Because this great leader lead them to the place they ought to be... not where they wanted to be! Are you a leader? If so, what kind?

Psalm 5:8
